when magic happens

September 2022 has gone by in a flash, and I've been busy with several styling jobs on the go. I'm lucky that my styling work is so varied. 

One day I'm styling homes for homeowners, interior designers and architects, or I could be designing a room set for an editorial magazine or styling a product campaign for a brand. Or even styling food too, yum! No day or week is the same, and I love that my creativity gets stretched in different directions.

A styling job I recently completed was a beautiful product campaign for my friends at Black Blaze candles.

From their nature-inspired candles to eye-catching brass candle holders, sculptural objects, and other delicate home accessories, every Black Blaze design is a stylish addition to a living space and home.

Here are a few of my favourite images we captured that showcase the beauty and style of the Black Blaze range.

FINDING beauty, curating HARMONY

On the day, there is a commitment to experimenting to see what works and what doesn't. Once a beautiful moment is created, we capture it with the lens. 

I work collaboratively with the creative team, including the photographer who was the talented Alana Landsberry for this shoot. We didn't have a tight plan for this photoshoot. I wanted to improvise on the day to see what magic happens with the beautiful props and Black Blaze products.

Given that Black Blaze is inspired by the colours, textures and wildlife of the Australian bush, I knew that nature would inspire me on the day.

Safe to say, I'm delighted with what we created together.
